The UAE chapter of Christ College Alumni was conceived in Chingamasam.   “Onaaghosham-98 – was organized by AKCAF, hosted by CMS College Alumni at Al Nasr Leisureland. The time was right, the mood was right and the context of alumni gathering was pumping nostalgia, would have provoked the responsibility among Vivek Menon, Sathish Menon, Rajesh, Prem, Ravindran and Vishvanatha Menon. In common, with the Onaaghosham of AKCAF, they formalized themselves, on the spot, as Old Students of Christ College Irinjalakuda.  Wrote themselves onto a Nettipattom like Placard, Vivek’s team spirit, made him to participate in the Pookala Malsaram, Rajesh and Prem lived their old college days with their D-Zone, Inter-Zone period Dance. The Christ College Alumni UAE Chapter was conceived, then and there, during the Onaghosham 98, in a Chingamasam.

The desire to further the gathering, into a formal banner, was pushing everyone. Sreejith introduced Vivek to P R Jos. The organizer in Jos,  tabled the idea to put an ad in local newspaper to reach the Christ fraternity in UAE, the need was great, the idea was printed in newsprint, in the month of August 1999.  The first meeting of the Christ College Old Students was thus held at the Marco Polo Hotel, Deira, Dubai in the month of October 1999. Our Alumni was born.

36 people participated in the founders meeting, including participants from Abu Dhabi and the other Northern Emirates. Those who came made voluntary contributions, brought their family to the gatherings to know each other, and then to help each other and to fulfill their obligations to their Alma Mater and college mates. The Christ College Alumni, UAE Chapter was born. The name was by P R Jos. Das Rajagopal was unanimously nominated as Convenor and Vivek Menon as Joint Convenor, supported by 10 committee members. The Founding Committee assumed the role, in 1999.

Invitations for the first family get together was made personally. Das, Vivek and Achuthan went from home to home, met all known old students in their home, and extended the warm welcome. The first family get together was conducted at Marco Polo Ball Room in the February 2000. Over 300 members including family, came to know and see each other. The fund needed for the rising organization need to be raised. Sponsorships, membership fees, and lifelong membership fees, were ideas which provided the financial resources for the growth of the organisation.

The next Family get together was conducted in Nashwan Hall at Al Nasr Leisureland Dubai in November 2001 and was attended by 267 members and their families.

Then, the time came for change of guard, Ravi Menon was made Convenor for the Year 2002-2003

In January 2004 another Family get together was conducted at Nashwan Hall at Al Nasr Leisureland. Bye Law was promulgated. The First Elected Executive Committee was formalized in the meeting held at Marco Polo Business Centre in the month of January 2004. All this is now history. Today we are in our Tenth year
